Pisco Sour
Making Class
Learn to shake, pour and perfect Peru's most famous cocktail on a terrace overlooking the White City and its volcanoes.
Peru's most famous cocktail
The toast of Peru, made by you
Silky foam, bright lime, a drop of bitters: the pisco sour is Peru's welcome toast, and in Arequipa it comes with a view. In this class you don't just drink one. You learn its story and craft your own.
Every great cocktail hides a history, and the pisco sour hides more than most. It begins with pisco itself, the grape brandy born in the vineyards of Peru's southern coast and named after the port town of Pisco, and it carries centuries of national pride, plus a foam so distinctive it's practically a flag. That's where we start: the history of Pisco and of its most famous creation, told the way locals tell it.
Then the shaker comes out. Guided by an expert, you'll taste different types of pisco and learn what sets each apart, then craft your own pisco sour step by step: the techniques, the measures and the flavor combinations that turn a handful of ingredients into something silky and bright.
And the setting does its part: a beautiful terrace overlooking the White City, with Arequipa's volcanoes standing guard on the horizon. When your cocktail is ready, the toast writes itself.
